The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words: "He is so good! His faithful love endures forever!". . .
(2 Chronicles 5:13)

According to the words of a popular saying, "those who sing once, pray twice." Each time they serve their fellow parishioners, those involved in music ministry at Our Lady of Refuge really do have the opportunity to pray and praise God at least twice, and perhaps many times over: through their voices and weekly rehearsals, through Masses and sacramental liturgies, through shared experiences and festivity, and through an intimate, ongoing participation in the joys and sorrows, aspirations and celebrations of God*s people.

The Adult Choir

The Adult Choir at Our Lady of Refuge consists of high school and adult members.  It sings  at the 9:30 Mass each Sunday.  Members rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the church, and auditions are held during rehearsals.

The Contemporary Music Group

The Contemporary Music Group consists of high school and young adult members.  It plays and sings at the 5:30 Mass on Sundays, and for special events.  Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 PM.  Auditions are held during rehearsals.

The Youth Ensemble

The Youth Ensemble consists of  young people in grades 2 through 8 who enjoy making music by singing or playing a musical instrument.  They meet in the Church each Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM for rehearsal.   They sing and play for Masses, and for special festivities  such as Thanksgiving Day Mass,  First Communion Masses, Christmas caroling, etc.  To learn more about the Youth Ensemble, click on the following link - Youth Ensemble.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir consists of Junior High, High School and Adult members.   It plays at special Masses and events.  Rehearsal times are to be determined.  Basic music reading ability is a plus, but it is not mandatory.  Auditions will be held during rehearsals.

Cantors, Organists and other Musicians

Cantors, Organists and other musicians assist at all of the Masses.  If you are a singer or an instrumentalist, join our parish music ministry.  Download the application form by clicking on the Music Ministry Sign-Up Form link below and contact the Music Director  for more information and/or to arrange an audition.

Music Planning Committee

The Music Planning Committee is a perfect "fit" for people who would like to participate in the music ministry, but cannot commit to rehearsal times.  Meetings are yet to be determined, and the principal requirement is a love for liturgical music.

We have really great people in our varied groups, and we have good times together. If you'd like to join us, please click on the following link. Download the Sign Up form.  Print it, fill it out and return it to Art Maramba, Music Director.
