MUSIC MINISTRY

The trumpeters
and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to
the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they
raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words: "He is
so good! His faithful love endures forever!". . .
(2 Chronicles 5:13)
According
to the words of a popular saying, "those who sing once, pray
twice." Each time they serve their fellow parishioners, those
involved in music ministry at Our Lady of Refuge really do have the
opportunity to pray and praise God at least twice, and perhaps many
times over: through their voices and weekly rehearsals, through Masses
and sacramental liturgies, through shared experiences and festivity, and
through an intimate, ongoing participation in the joys and sorrows,
aspirations and celebrations of God*s people.
