The
parish family at Our Lady of Refuge recognizes this community need.
Since the early 1990’s, it has responded by working with local
hospitals in having parishioner blood drives at least twice a year.
Blood Drive Chairperson, Vivian Miller, works with Long Beach
Memorial Hospital in coordinating the efforts.
The week before each drive, Vivian and her helpers register
volunteer donors after the Saturday and
Sunday Masses. The following
week, the mobile Blood Donor unit from Long Beach Memorial Hospital sets
up equipment in the parish hall.
Parishioners walk to the hall after Sunday Masses to give their
donations.
If you would like to assist in registering donor volunteers, carrying out other organizational tasks or in donating your own blood, contact :Vivian Miller E-Mail:
