Education and information about
the Church’s position on moral issues such as abortion,
capital punishment and euthanasia. It also promotes dissemination of information about legislation which may enhance or threaten
the promotion of the dignity of life. |

Pastoral care for individuals and families
impacted by abortion, capital punishment, etc. - for example Project
Rachel in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. |

Advocacy on behalf of human life issues
– e.g., contacting legislators regarding pending bills, peaceful
demonstrations, etc. |
Each year Respect Life groups across the United States set aside the first Sunday of October as Respect Life Sunday. It is a time for special prayer and efforts to promote the dignity of human life.
The Respect Life group of Our Lady of Refuge participates in the annual Life Chain on Respect Life Sunday, the first Sunday of each October. From 2:30 – 4:00 PM, participants stand at the corner of Lakewood and Del Amo Boulevards (across from the Lakewood Mall in Lakewood). The Life Chain is a peaceful, lawful, prayerful demonstration of love for all those affected by abortion.
