Spiritual Reading Classics

The Imitation of Christ    by Thomas a Kempis
For five hundred years this gentle book, filled with the spirit of the love of God, has brought understanding and comfort to millions of readers in over fifty languages, and provided them with a source of heart-felt personal prayer.  These meditations on the life and teachings of Jesus, written in times even more troubled and dangerous than our own, have become second only to the Bible as a guide and inspiration.
Christian Classics

Confessions of St. Augustine    by St. Augustine of Hippo
In The Confessions, Saint Augustine addressed himself eloquently and passionately to the enduring spiritual questions that have stirred the minds and hearts of thoughtful men since time began. Written A.D. 397, The Confessions are a history of the young Augustine's fierce struggle to overcome his profligate ways and achieve a life of spiritual grace.
On Loving God   by St. Bernard of Clairvaux
St. Bernard was born near Dijon France in the year 1090.  He became a monk and later Abbot of the Monastary at Clairvaux.   In his book On Loving God, St. Bernard shows that the manner of loving God is to love Him without measure.
