JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

The Junior High School Youth Group for 7th
and 8th Grade students was formed in 2001. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for boys and girls
from both public and Catholic schools to join for prayer, friendship,
fun and service.
The Junior High School Youth Group meets
in the Parish Hall on the third Friday of each month from 7 to 9 PM for
a Friendship Night. The
evening begins with prayer and worship, and is followed by time for
games, sharing and pizza or other refreshments.
The group also participates in the Archdiocesan events for Junior
High students, such as Magic Mountain Day.
Throughout the year, the Junior High
School Youth Group is also involved in service projects to help others in our community.
This includes visits to convalescent homes, participation in
beach cleanup programs, the
Long Beach “Make a Difference Day”, etc.
Our faith stresses the importance of being
living and vital members of the Christian community and giving loving
service to others in the name of Jesus.
Studying these teachings from a book, or describing them verbally
is not enough. Young people
must live the teachings, and the Junior High Youth Group gives them that
opportunity.
