YOUTH MINISTRIES

As the world celebrated the opening of the new millennium, Pope John Paul II spoke the following words to young people who had gathered in Rome to celebrate World Youth Day 2000. 

Let yourselves be molded by the Holy Spirit. Spend time in prayer, letting the Spirit speak to your hearts.. . .. Ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten your minds, ask him for the gift of a living faith which will forever give meaning to your lives, joining them to Christ, the Word made flesh.   (Pope John Paul II – August 15, 2000) 

Being molded by the Holy Spirit is an ongoing process throughout life, but it is of special importance for young people who are in their formative years.   Growth through the power of the Holy Spirit is centered in the family and is the most important task of mothers and fathers.  The larger  parish community is present to assist and to help  parents teach children Christian values.   The parish  does this principally through its Educational Ministries and its Youth Ministries.

Children’s Youth Ensemble

The ensemble is a group of boys and girls in Grades 3 through 8 from public and Catholic schools.  It has both singers and instrumentalists, and leads the congregation in singing at Sunday Mass once each month, and sings for  special occasions throughout the year. 

Cub Scouts - Pack 267 

Cub Scouting is a year-round family program for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).  Participation is open to boys from both public and Catholic schools.
