The Liturgy of Hours (Divine Office) is an ancient prayer of the Church consisting of readings from the Book of Psalms and other parts of Scripture. While it is prayed each day by priests and religious throughout the world, it is actually a prayer for all God's people - including the laity. The Divine Office is divided into hours so as to sanctify the entire day with praise and worship.
