TOGETHER IN MISSION 2012
“Be Imitators of . . . Christ.” 1 Cor. 11:1

This week, you are asked to read and reflect upon the Together in Mission materials that you received.

Together in Mission provides substantial financial support to 35 parishes and 52 schools in our Archdiocese. These parishes and schools provide education, ministry and a Catholic presence for tens of thousands of our sisters and brothers. Sometimes it is difficult to envision how your pledge can help so many people. But, it does. To see how, please review the materials and read the statements of those whose parishes and schools receive support. The theme of the campaign is “Be Imitators of... Christ.” 1Cor 1:1. Together in Mission provides an opportunity to show our concern for those served by the parishes and schools that need your financial support. If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass next weekend. Also, we will conduct our annual Together in Mission in-pew pledge process at all Masses on the weekend of February 11-12.
 

SIGN UP FOR SMALL CHURCH COMMUNITIES
There is still time to sign up before gatherings begin the week of February 19. They meet once a week for six weeks, in a parishioner's home and last 1.5 hrs. This is a great way to prepare for Easter! BUNDLE SUNDAY -  THIS WEEKEND, FEBRUARY 5
Today! The St. Vincent de Paul Bundle Sunday Truck is here today in the parking lot, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Remember to bring any usable items that will help needy individuals. For large items call 323-224-6280 for home a pickup.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED
We are in need of someone who can launder Altar Server albs once a week. This ministry requires a volunteer with reliable transportation and laundry equipment. If you can assist please call Janet at the church office, Monday-Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM, at 562-498-6641.

ATTENTION SENIORS

WOMEN'S SILENT RETREAT

SCHOOL NEWS

MARDI GRAS TIME
Mardi Gras Casino is on Saturday, February 18, 6 PM-11 PM in the OLR Auditorium. The price is $35 per person and includes an appetizer, drink ticket, raffle ticket and $100 in “casino cash.” We are looking for event sponsors. Sponsorships vary in price from as little as $35 (which will sponsor a faculty/staff member, and/or as high as $1,000 for Gold  Sponsorship. Gold Sponsors will receive a 4’ x 8’ recognition banner, gaming table advertisement, 4 tickets to the event and $400 in “Casino Cash.” For further event sponsorship information or event details, please contact Dana Tavarez at 562-857-2347. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

YOUTH DAY
Youth Day Thursday, March 22 starts off the Religious Education Congress with 14,000 young people coming together for workshops, liturgies, rallies, and high energy! High school students are welcome to join us for a day of fun and worship, but space is limited. The cost is $30. SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
There is a session for parents and their children in the Second yea of preparation for first Eucharist on Monday, February 6 in the hall from 6:30-7:30 PM with Deacon Roger and the Sacrament Team.

YOUTH TEAM
Can you work with other confirmed youth to plan fun nights for high school kids in faith formation? Confirmed young adults are invited to join the Confirmation Team and work with catechists and teens. Please call the office at 562-597-3102 if you are interested in this ministry.
