Troy Martinez was recognized at Mass on November 23 for earning his Parvuli Dei (“Children of God”) religious emblem. To earn this emblem, Troy completed a series of structured projects designed to deepen his spiritual growth and self-awareness. Several activities required him to compose original prayers, while others guided him in recognizing his own gifts and talents, as well as those of others. His family members participated in exercises that encouraged them to acknowledge and appreciate each individual’s unique qualities. Troy also reflected on how he could use his personal gifts in service to his community, including altar serving, assisting with food drives, creating artwork with his sister, and helping to make special occasions meaningful for important individuals in his life. Upon completion of the program, he created a comprehensive poster summarizing his learning and presented it to Father David. The OLR Cub Scout program guides young scouts to see God in their daily lives and to grow in confidence through service to their families and community. We’re so proud of you, Troy!
