Seminarian Nicholas

My journey with God began in earnest at Our Lady of Refuge, where in 2015 I was received into the Roman Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil. Confronted by the enormity of suffering through the illness of my father, I encountered a loving and living God who drew ever closer to me and my family. My encounter with the personal and self-sacrificing love of Jesus compelled me to grow more in my faith--first as a parishioner at OLR, then as a confirmation catechist, and finally through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. In 2018, with the support of Fr. Bill O’Keefe and Dcn. Roger Faubert, I entered the Society of Jesus (or the Jesuits). Dcn. Roger even joined me for entrance day! My journey since then has been marked by the deepening love of Jesus in his people and his church. I can honestly say that it was my church community at Our Lady of Refuge that prayed for and nurtured my vocation. Please pray for me on my journey. And count on my prayers for the OLR Catholic community!
